Jay West has produced music since he was 12. As a songwriter, guitar player and singer he was part of several funk bands back in Argentina. It didn't take him long to fall in love with house music and started spinning records with great success.
Now, at 25, Paul Velvet (His dj alias) is an important part of Southamerica's house scene, building his unique style and earning respect in the international house community. With tight productions that receive support and chartings from a wide range of international djs like Hernan Cattaneo, Grant Dell, Jason Hodges, Amir Javasoul or Jay Tripwire, added to excellent mixing and dancefloor skills, Jay West has become an essential for many club nights all across the world participating in the most important events like Winter Music Conference Miami (2005) and Southamerican Music Conference Buenos Aires (2004) (as a panelist and dj).
Always original and filled with groove, Jay's music is perfect for greedy dancefloors. His sets are always funky and fun... As a producer he has reached an unusual success considering his short age. His productions had been picked by the most important labels around such as Blockhead, Cove, Random House, Pancake, Stupendous, Sensei, Spleen, So Sound. He has also been remixed by great artists like Patrick Turner, Morgan Page, Grant Dell, Joey Youngman and more!
